It thinks the middle-aged may want a training edge, so Paragon Private Equity has snared a stake in health products wholesaler Optigen Ingredients. Optigen is in the so-called nutriceuticals industry, which aims to supply nutritional supplements to active people.

The executive chairman of Paragon, Greg Boulton, says there is a widening market for these products.

The deal continues Paragon's spread of its investments.
